This is a perfect example of a Wedding on a budget and by budget I mean no money at all! I knew that I had to make the wedding affordable and appealing to my future husband, or it was a no go. I spent around $6000 on the whole thing! It was a labor of love for sure, but in the end it was everything I could have ever hoped for! The key to a beautiful wedding, on a super tight budget is look, look, look and look again. I scoured the internet for the cheapest price on everything, and I did everything my self, with the help of some amazing friends! These tips are what helped me and it can be done! My husband has always said I have champagne dreams on a beer budget and hes right, but you know what you would never know that when you see this wedding and that’s my goal for all events I do!
The dress!!!! I got this dress at Davids Bridal, for only $450.00! I loved the simplicity of it, and I am obsessed with ruffles so it was a win win. Don’t think you have to settle for something that’s not what you dreamed of, they actually have some pretty amazing dresses there and now they have Vera Wang…swoon!
I loved my shoes so much, although they turned out to hate my feet as the night went on they were worth the pain, don’t you think!
My little Sophia Rose, only 2 at the time, so pretty!
Audrey Bleu, not too happy at that moment due to a lack of sleep! Both of the girls headbands made by me Bleu Rose Boutique! I also made their bouquet took me about 10 min and they loved them.
I picked these dresses, (also from Davids Bridal) because every one could wear whatever style they wanted, but all in the same colors. I also told the girls they had to wear whatever yellow heels they wanted and pearls. When you give your Bridesmaids options and individuality they are a lot happier.
Bouquets are from Classiquecollections on Etsy. These along with a little blue clutch served as their gifts. Fabric and buttons bouquets are all the rage and quite pricey, but she was really affordable and let me create everything! These are still one of my favorite things from that day!
My husbands tends to march to the beat of his own drum so he wanted everyone to wear colored shoes, and no jackets, to keep it casual! my hubby’s are the pink ones:)
Here I am waiting to get the ok to walk out and let him see me! All my jewelery was from Forever 21 and I made my Flower for my hair!
He seemed surprised:)
I love this picture so much, it was caught at the perfect time! This was right after he saw me and I think he really did like how I looked:) A lot of couples these days opt to see each other before they walk down the isle, its up to you, we already had 2 children and had done nothing in order and I felt like we could get more pictures done this way:)
I think the most important part of a wedding is location, location, location! You can have the best of everything, and the worst location, and none of the beauty gets captured. We picked an historic restaurant in San Juan Capistrano that used to be a church and had one jail cell in the 1900’s. This is where the Spanish beauty part comes in. You should pick your location before your dress or anything else, because it sets the tone and budget for the whole wedding:)
This Yellow door was the best spot, I loved how it looked in the photos. This yellow door was my inspiration for all the yellow through out the wedding:)
The Big Event is about to start!
I had their hair done, it looked perfect and then they looked like a wreck coming down the aisle, I almost freaked, but took a deep breath and focused on what was important, my hubby:) Everything will NOT go perfect and that’s ok, at the end of the day you married the love of your life, and that’s perfection in its self!
Here comes the bride!
This is what is left of that old church, so pretty and so perfect! I also wore the same gloves that my Grandma wore in the 50’s when she married my Grandpa, my something old:)
Me and my dear friend made the seating chart, and all the center pieces. I also had another great friend who did the cake and all the cupcakes. This saved a ton of money, but be aware of the time, where you save money..you loose time, so have help, I would have never been able to do this without the help of these women:)
No smooching in the face, he knew better!
The reception was amazing and we had a photo booth, which was the hit of the party. The pictures also served as the wedding favor, so two for one!
It was a perfect and I couldn’t have asked for a better day! You can have your dream wedding on a budget you just have to be willing to do the work, but it will pay off in the end.
We decided to incorporate something cute from our wedding as a thank you card. This saves money as well, by using what you already have, as well as keeping with who you are as a couple.
Remember you don’t have to have a million bucks to do great things, stay fancy!
